How we pick recipes
We only compare against recipes for the same machine, since grind numbers differ between Studio and Original. Matching weights:
| Coffee name | 28 | |
|---|---|---|
| Process | 12 | |
| Tasting notes | 12 | |
| Roaster | 10 | |
| Hot or iced | 10 | |
| Origin country | 9 | |
| Roast | 7 | |
| Varietal | 7 | |
| Taste | 5 | |
| Basket | 5 | |
| Data completeness | 4 |
- We take the 5 closest recipes (no more than two for the same coffee) and weight the closest ones more.
- The ratio is always a multiple of 0.5, and the pours add up to dose × ratio.
- Iced: the brew-water ratio comes from similar iced recipes, centred on 1:8.5 (between 1:7 and 1:9); ice is at least 90% of the water and grows with the water temperature, since hotter water melts more ice, so the whole drink ends up near 1:16.
- Iced grind is 4 steps finer on Studio, based on 706 iced vs 3198 hot recipes.
- We never guess missing coffee details.
Data limits
- We can't confirm a harvest or lot match. Farm and harvest year aren't in the data.
- Roasters come from many countries; the origin shown is where the coffee grew.
- 199 recipes have sources that disagree on some details; we weight them less.
- We haven't brewed or tasted the published recipes. Recipes this site suggests are stored separately and never become sources.
Saving to xBloom
- We save the recipe to the site's own xBloom account and give you its link. No sign-in needed.
- A recipe is saved once even if you tap twice or lose connection, and we verify the link after saving.
- This integration is unofficial and relies on xBloom's current app API.
- Saving never starts the brewer.
